Sunflower Munching

Something is eating Maria’s Sunflowers in the Homeward Bound Memorial Garden.

Seems too high for slugs to climb, and too much damage for earwigs. No caterpillars to be found.

Birds? Beetles?

If you are a Sunflower expert, please weigh in to save these tall beauties.

Thanks!

  1. Maria here. I would really like to find out since this damage was all done during the week from Monday until today, Friday. Please help. If it is a bird, then i guess there is nothing that can be done. Would it help to hang streamers to detract the birds from landing on the big leaves.

    1. After our visit today…we believe the culprit is finches. Wait until you see what Maria’s plan!
