Monarch Butterflies are doing dances all through the butterfly bed in the Homeward Bound Memorial Garden. We have created a haven for them with Butterfly Bush, Milkweed, Lantana, Verbena and a host of others.
As long as they stay still, I can pretty much capture them.
In flight – not so much.
I was able to capture the dance of this rare specimen, however. Quite the ballet – don’t you think?
Take a bow, Dee Dee! Such a cutie.
I LOVE your monarch butterfly photos. The orange of its wings against that blue flower is so beautiful π
Thank you! Maybe it will inspire a new illustration…??
Oooooh yes that would be amazing!!
I can only imagine that a dog feels heavenly bliss rolling on the grass…the expressions on the face is priceless.
She’s such a sweetie. A little aloof at first, but once she gets comfortable with you…such a love!
These are great pictures. It looks like she was really enjoying her day in the garden.
Stunning images we don’t have Monarchs in UK, so its wonderful to see your images. Plus that’s one happy pup love, love, love those images lol.x
Can she peform a paw de deux? π
So beauwooowooootiful! The butterflies toowooowoooo, Ku
π
Dee Dee just made my day! π
A lovable girl!
So cute! And great performance!! Much love, The Scottie Mom.
π
The pictures turn out awesome when those butterflies cooperate! π do the hummingbirds frequent those plants as well?
They do…but I have much worse luck with them!
Love the ballet of both small and large creatures. Over the years, we have continued to plant and maintain plants to attract butterflies. But for some reason this year, we are seeing almost no butterflies. Their absence is very noticeable and they are missed.
Maybe too much rain for them this year? We’ll keep them cozy until they can return!
Butterfly Bushes are my favorite, and your pictures are wonderful!
Happy, happy dog rolling in the grass, so lucky to be with good people!
Thanks for your nice note and visiting, Marylin!
Love this happy post!
