Back from our annual week of camping and fishing where the Redwoods tower…
and the Klamath River meets the Pacific Ocean.
This was predicted to be a record run year, and it did not disappoint. They were literally lined up shoulder to shoulder casting off both sides of the bank…
landing 30-pounders with rod and reel.
But me? My eyes were on the dogs of Klamath of course. Ocean dogs, river dogs, and prissy camping dogs…but not a Golden in sight!
Where exactly were you to get fish like that???
Klamath, CA…but runs like this happen only once every four years.
Amazing, truly amazing ๐
Save the fishies! PLEASE save the fishies!
The seals get as many as the sports fisherman, and trust me – Fish and Game was everywhere. The commercial fishing is another story.
Melt…..All the time when I read your blog. You ROCK!!!!
Right back at you! And thanks. ๐
Some of the expressions on those dog’s faces were hilarious! Lovely to see so many shapes and sizes.
what a social experiment!
What a trip, literally – camping, fishing, sandy beaches, and a dog show to boot. ๐
Great post – makes you wonder whose enjoying themselves more. Love the dogs and man are those big fish or what?!
So happy that you had a great getaway. What a gorgeous spot! My entire family is so envious of the apparently cool weather, but we’ll get over it. ๐ The sand is very interesting, and what kind of fish is that?
The sand is granite-like…very course…and the fish: Salmon!
Those are huge salmon! I love salmon dog treats and salmon-flavored food, so I cannot understand how in the world all those dogs managed to control themselves. I might not have been so good. ๐
You better be good around those fishies! Raw salmon is NOT good for doggies.
I always eat it cooked but I had not idea that raw salmon is bad for dogs. Thanks for the info!
Looks like it was a great get away! I am amazed it was “gold-less”. And surprised by the variety of fur kids out roughing it. Just goes to show, no matter what size or breed, all dogs love some time in nature to play, explore and just enjoy the fresh air. A couple Goldens would have topped it off though ๐
They are apparently home lounging on the couch…big surprise!
Thank you for taking us on the vacation with you. The photos are so great we felt like we were there. Hope to see you soon at HB.
๐ Very soon!
Amazing! Nice to see the variety of dogs. Looks like an awesome getaway, beautiful scenery!
Thanks for holding down the fort so we could escape!
Of course, you deserve it!
LOVE LOVE LOVE the puppy pictures! Each and everyone is so beautiful and handsome and pretty!!!
