Beautiful shots of a beautiful little birdie!! I have a photo of a baby tufted titmouse that I took about 20 years ago. He had fallen out of our oak tree in the back yard and I was trying to protect him from the neighbor’s cat. I stayed close but never touched him. Once he shook off the fall — he wasn’t hurt, just a little dazed — I was able to nudge him to a spot where his mama could reach him safely and she got him fluttering his wings. All of a sudden they took off together. The whole time, the cat was watching, licking its lips, but she knew I wasn’t going to let her harm that baby. She stayed in her own yard.
It still makes me feel good to this day when I think of mama and baby flying off together to the safety of their nest. 🙂
He’s having fun stretching his wings!
