I am a nascent gardener, rescuer, and photographer, chronicling the journey of the dogs at Homeward Bound Golden Retriever Rescue and Sanctuary near Sacramento, CA - and the Memorial Garden we have devoted to them.

The squirrels are a delight to watch until you realize they’ve just finished off an entire feeder’s worth of food. Cute Pics!
Oh dear. Yep, mine is also squirrel proof. I heard one today chirping, which is unusual during our winter but it’s been unseasonably mild. I’m out and about tomorrow and must remember some peanuts. I must say, your little visitor looks well fed 😀 Cute as can be.
Congratulations! Your beautiful photos have captured the rare dejected squirrel. Good job! Our squirrels are currently eating all the berries on the holly tree, and Harper Lee is obsessed. She sits on the ground and gazes up like a child watching cartoons. 🙂
When I lived on Long Island, there weren’t many squirrels who were NOT clever enough to foil even the most ingenious anti-squirrel bird feeders. I know because my Dad and older brothers used to come up with such feeders only to see the critters

Exactly. If they earned their keep, they might have a more welcoming bird feeder!

He is now in cahoots with the birds. The big ones knock the seeds to the grass and he gets to eat there!
Team work, gotta like that 😀
Looks like someone’s sulking!
It’s not every day that a squirrel loses!
He really does look sulky!
Monty and Harlow
🙂 He’ll get over it.

It is rare that they don’t get their way, isn’t it? Endless entertainment for the doggies!

Oops — dropped the phone. LOL
