A perfect long weekend starts early with the afternoon off and a sneak trip to the garden.

The Butterfly Garden, filling in at a rapid rate. I saw a Monarch today, but it got away!

  1. What great pictures. It looks like the lizard is keeping a close eye on the garden and getting lots of sun. the Asiatic lilies are just beautiful. I don’t think I have ever seen pelicans out at HB before.

    1. Thank you…yes, lots of hard work to bend Mother Nature a little to our way of seeing things. No “resting” here…just a wonderful place to memorialize our companions and remember together. πŸ™‚

    1. Isn’t he funny?! And choosing a turtle to conquer – of all things! Besides the irony, I think he liked the view. πŸ™‚

  2. Glorious, and I love the sweet lizard, too…thank you for starting the day with sun shine and flowers!

    1. The little guy had no fear. Came right up to him and he wasn’t moving. Don’t know if he thought I couldn’t see him, or – more likely – he was just enjoying his perch so much that he wasn’t giving it up!
